Gloucester law firms Tayntons and Rowbis join forces to become city’s largest practice
Two of Gloucester’s longest established firms of solicitors, Tayntons and Rowbis, have joined forces to form the city’s biggest law practice.
Tayntons Solicitors, whose heritage dates back to 1857, have acquired Rowbis, formerly known as Rowberry Morris, who have been in business for 65 years.
The newly formed law firm will be called Tayntons Solicitors (incorporating Rowbis) and will be based at Tayntons existing offices at Clarence Street, Gloucester.
The acquisition will see the number of staff at Tayntons grow to more than 70, becoming the biggest Gloucester-based law firm.
Tayntons Managing Partner Andrew Ollerenshaw said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Rowbis and its staff and clients to Tayntons.’
‘The two firms have been working together for more than 50 years and between us we have more than 220 years experience and knowledge of providing legal services in Gloucester and beyond.’
‘Combining our expertise is a natural progression for Tayntons as we continue to expand. It will greatly enhance the unrivalled and client-focused legal services we are proud to provide to our clients.’
Former Rowbis partner Jaron Crooknorth will become an Associate Partner at Tayntons Solicitors. He said: ‘We believe this is a very positive move and we are looking forward to a bright future with Tayntons who have built a very strong reputation for providing outstanding legal services.’
Amongst the 13-strong Rowbis team joining Tayntons will be Associate Partner Michelle Crooknorth who is a member of the Law Society Children Panel which allows her to represent children in private law disputes between parents. She is also a Deputy District Judge.
Michelle has extensive experience in Family Law including divorce, financial resolution, cohabitee issues and civil partnership.
The acquisition of Rowbis by Tayntons will see its Family Law section become the largest and most experienced in the region. Tayntons will also take over Rowbis’s work in Wills and Probate, Commercial and Residential Conveyancing, Civil Litigation, Employment Law and Professional Negligence.
