2. How long have you worked at Tayntons?
I have worked at Tayntons for 9 years!!
3. What led you to this career?
I joined Tayntons as Customer Liaison Assistant in the Personal Injury department. I applied for the job because I was interested in law and wanted to work in a legal environment. Since then I have progressed to Claims Handler in the Personal Injury department and now I manage the New Business Team which was a new department set up 5 years ago. I have also complete two work related qualifications NVQ 2 in Customer Service and NVQ 3 in Business Administration.
4. What is a typical day in the life as a New Business Manager at Tayntons?
Daily I deal with incoming enquiries through various forms such as; web chat, contact forms, clients coming in off the street, phone calls etc. I also liaise with most members of staff in the firm to book in appointments for clients and to ask advice for legal matters. I also have an active role in the staff working group where we try to make positive changes to the firm.
5. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy speaking to lots of different clients from all works of life. I pride myself in giving the highest level of client care I can and getting them booked in with a solicitor that can help them with their matter. I like to help people!
6. What’s a work related accomplishment that you are really proud of?
I am really proud that I was able to be the start of the New Business Team. The department started from scratch and I was in sole charge of the department, now we have expanded with myself and my colleague Chloe and come such a long way in the past 5 years. I am really proud of what I have achieved to get the department to what it is today.
7. What is your biggest work pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is having a computer malfunction! It doesn’t happen very often but is frustrating when it does!
8. What are you looking forward to this year at Tayntons?
We have lots of big changes coming up in 2020, so I am excited to see how these progress. We always strive to do bigger and better than last year and in terms of our conversion rates for new enquiries, I am looking forward to seeing if we can improve those this year.
9. What is your work motto?
Tidy desk, tidy mind!
10. If you could add one thing to the office, what would it be?
A coffee machine! Or a bathroom upstairs in Russell Street, it’s a long way down!
