Charity Netball Event
June 15, 2015
On 7th June, Stroud Ladies Netball Club organised a charity netball tournament to raise money and awareness of Hodgkins Lymphoma. Samantha Tozer, one of Stroud Ladies key players, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma earlier in the year, after feeling unwell for a period of time.
Amie Watkins of our Conveyancing Department has played for Stroud Ladies since school, and was only too happy to help organise this event with her other team mates to help Sam.
The tournament had two courts running, one being competitive, and the other ‘fun league’. We had mixed teams too, allowing Sam’s boyfriend, Liam to have his first taste of netball!
We raised over £2,700.00 in total! This was boosted by a massive raffle, which included donations from local businesses and friends and family of the Stroud Ladies players.
Tayntons kindly sponsored the courts for the tournament. It was so lovely to see Sam smiling so much after ongoing, an aggressive chemotherapy.
